– Two more suspected criminal hideouts were razed to the ground by the Nigerina army
– They recovered 1,355 animals, motorcycles, police and army uniform, weapons
Soldiers of the 223 Light Tank Battalion in Gusau have destroyed two camps belonging to criminals in Dumburum forest of Zurmi Local Government area of Zamfara state on Thursday.
The news were made public by Colonel Aliyu Adamu on Friday, who released a statement giving the details of the operation.

According to Mr Adamu, the hideouts were headed by Manu Wargaji and Bush, two notorious gang leaders.
Unfortunately, troops didn’t manage to detain the bandits — they fled moments before the soldiers entered their camps, leaving behind most of their belongings and 1,355 animals.
The army has recovered 293 cows, 876 sheep and 186 goats, as well as two motorcycles, police and army desert uniform, cutlasses and two voters’ cards belonging to Maisamari Isa.

Clearance patrol is currnelty ongoing in different parts of the state to put the kibosh on criminal gangs and recover stolen property.
Earlier this week the same batallion killed 20 cattle rustlers during a military operation in Zamfara.
