Governor Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa state has said he will conduct a free, fair and transparent Ondo All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election on Saturday, September 3.
This comes even as the governor says he does not believe in charms and so he is not afraid, The Punch reports.
Gov Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa state has said he will conduct a free and fair Ondo APC primary election as he is not afraid of juju.
Abubakar said this while briefing newsmen in Abuja after being sworn in as the chairman of APC Ondo Primary Election Committee.

He said: “Free and fair election will solve the problem. If they believe we are free, fair and transparent, they will accept the result.
”Well in the first place, I don’t believe in juju so certainly I am surely not afraid.
”I don’t know of any imposition, my duty there is to be free, fair and transparent and I think that is the only thing that will help the party.”
Speaking on how the delegates for the election will be identified, Governor Abubakar said they will have to either present their international passport, permanent voter card or national identity card.
He added: “Any one of the three will be able to solve the identification problem.”
Abubakar also advised governors to cut expenditure in order to overcome the embarrassment of owing staff salaries.
He said once the workers were paid and happy, any state could move forward and be productive.

On Saturday, about 3,000 delegates of the APC, in Ondo state will gather in Akure, the state capital, to elect the party’s flagbearer for the November 27 governorship election.
NAIJ.com recalls that the crisis rocking the party in the state hit its peak on Monday, August 29, as some members of the party turned its secretariat in the state into a shrine.
However, the rituals placed at the entrance of the secretariat were removed by security officers, following the intervention of the national secretariat of the party.
The secretariat was thereafter taken over by men of the Nigerian Police.
