John Obi Mikel of Nigeria scored his first Champions League goal ever when a Fabregas free kick was flicked towards the goal by Cahill. Mikel and Matic scuffled for the ball, as the Nigerian got the last touch as the ball rolled into the goal post.
An earlier goal from the spot by Fabregas gave Chelsea the lead in the first ten minutes after Filipe Luis was brought down in the box by Ricardo Esgaio.
Andre Schurrle added a second shortly after, with a screamer from the edge of the box, following good work from Matic.
Lisbon pulled one back via Jonathan Silva in the second half, but Mikel’s goal ensured Mourinho’s men finished top of the group after bagging three points.
