A family were left stunned after being fined £400 for taking too long to eat their pub lunch.
Tina Hoskins who is a teacher and 23 other family members gathered for their annual festive get-together at a Brewers Fayre pub near her home.
But despite pre-ordering their meals because of the size of their group, their food was delayed by up to an hour.
By the time they had finished their meals, paid the bill and returned to their cars, the group had been in the pub just over three hours.
A few days later four members of the group received letters in the post informing them they were being fined £100 for breaching the time limit in the car park.
But Tina, 34, of Patchway, Bristol, claims they would not have run over the three hour mark if their food had been served on time.
She said: “I was livid when the bill came through.
“I am outraged that they can charge you to park, especially considering the amount the party spent.
“I will not be paying this parking fine as I believe it to be a disgrace.
“Instead I will advise my family of a more friendly establishment for next year.”
Family members travelled from as far afield as Norfolk and Somerset for the meal at The Concorde pub in Filton, Bristol, shortly before Christmas.
