Rapper 50 Cent has had his personal bank account frozen for not complying with court orders.
The rapper had lost a case of stealing headphone designs from former partners Sleek Audio, and was ordered to pay $11,693,247 in damages and $4,488,331 in attorney’s fees.
50 and the company had agreed to create a line of headphones together in 2011, but the rapper ended up parting ways with them and created his own line of headphones, Sync by 50.
Sleek Audio then sued him for “misappropriating trade secrets, breaching his fiduciary duty owed to Sleek, participating in a civil conspiracy, breaching his confidentiality agreement with Sleek, and being unjustly enriched.”
Sleek eventually won the lawsuit in April, with the court ruling that 50 cent pay damages.
50’s lawyers are adamant however that the account hasn’t been frozen, and claim they haven’t paid because they are still appealing the decision.
