– APC chieftain pleads not guilty to committing perjury

A chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu state, Hyacinth Nsude, has been arrested by the police following a petition by two persons alleging that he committed perjury against the party.

Tribune resorts that Nsude was subsequently arraigned before a chief magistrate court on Thursday, February 25, on, a day after his arrest.

He however pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him before the presiding chief magistrate, Nnena Madu.
Arguing in court, counsel to the Nsude, Ik Ozor called for the charges against his client to be dismissed as the supposed complainant was not in court.
He equally asked the court to grant the defendant bail, which the court obliged.
The matter was adjourned to March 11 for further hearing.

The court further ordered that the APC should appear in court on the next adjourned date.
Meanwhile, the Rivers state chapter of the APC has roped Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state in a monumental fraud allegedly committed by the governor when he was the minister of education.
The party in a statement by the APC state chairman, Davis Ikanya in Port Harcourt yesterday February 24, claims the financial fraud carried out by Wike when he was minster for Education far outweighs the current $2.1 billion arms deal scandal by former national security adviser, (NSA) Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd).
