– Ohaneze youth says they are not responsible for the problem rocking IPON
– They warned the Biafra group to stop blackmailing them
– The Biafra group is going through crisis due to the breakaway of a splinter faction
The Ohaneze Youth Council (OYC) has distanced itself from the problems rocking the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) which has led to the establishment of a splinter group.
A group, The Reformed Indigenous People Of Biafra (TRIPOB) broke away from IPOB and said it has stopped the agitation for an independent Biafra state and replaced it with the pursuit for the relevance of Igbo people in Nigeria.

The Ohaneze has been fingered in the establishment of the new group but Vanguard reports that the OYC said that neither the entire body nor its president general, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro has any hand in the crisis rocking the pro-Biafra group.
In a statement, the group said: “The attention of the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth council worldwide is drawn to a publication in some media which claimed that the National President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth council worldwide, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro is behind the break away faction of IPOB called TRIPOB.
“This is a naked lie. Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth council worldwide has nothing to do with TRIPOB neither is it involved in the crisis rocking IPOB. We warned one Elliot Uko and the spokesperson of IPOB Clifford Iroanya to stop blackmailing the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth council worldwide or we will declare them enemies of Igbo.

“Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth council worldwide is the apex Igbo Youth body and does not involve itself in any pro-Biafra agitation and is not mobilizing for anybody including President Buhari on October 1, 2016, but will be at the forefront of calling for the release of all Biafran detainees.
“We believe in restructuring of the country according to 2014 Constitutional conference and call on President Buhari to look into it. We advise IPOB to please, not involve Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth council worldwide in their propaganda”, OYC said in a statement signed by Mazi Okemiri Alex, chairman of all the chairmen of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth wing.”
Meanwhile, IPOB called on the entire world to come to its help over alleged clamp on its members by the Nigerian government.
The group in its plea said the federal government and the security agencies have been programmed to “stiff” lives out of its members through a house to house search and arrest.
