– Bayern Munich star has launched a lawsuit against Bild
– Arturo Vidal speaks about the case
According to the German media, he drank alcohol during the club’s winter training camp in Qatar.
Bild reported that the player had left the team’s headquarters on several occasions in January and returned in an intoxicated state.
However, Vidal denies the claims.
He said: “I would like to say that the claims published today in a German newspaper are absolutely false. My lawyers have already been instructed to initiate a legal claim against the newspaper responsible for these lies. I’m 100 % committed to my team and preparing for the rest of the season, which will be very important for all of us. Thanks to my club for their support and also thanks to my fans for their love as always.”
But it is important to note that Arturo Vidal was arrested seven month ago by Chilean police after he crashed his £230,000 Ferrari while driving under the influence of alcohol.
The BBC reported that accident happened on the outskirts of Santiago on June 16, Tuesday. The footballer reportedly rammed into another vehicle on the motorway before veering off-road.
Commenting on the accident, Colonel Ricardo Gonzalez, Chilean national police chief, said: “The driver of the red vehicle was under the influence of alcohol”.
