Alright, this caught my attention on social media. A place called Lavender Hill (indeed) and this place is where untreated toilet is openly discharged into the sea in Ghana. The Accra Metro. Assembly makes a whopping GHC50,000 from this business. It’s 3km away from the James Town where the majority of the fish we eat are from. There’s also an abattoir in the same catchment area which uses the contaminated sea water to CLEAN their floor and equipment. The abattoir is the source of the bulk of our meat products — The question is, is this the Better Ghana Agenda promised? Shouldn’t this place be closed down or can’t we use the waste toilet for something better?
