Two time Ballon D’Or winner and Brazialian footballing legend, Ronaldo De Lima has announced his decision to return to football after the decorated Brazilian retired from the game in 2011.
Ronaldo who has gone on to become an internationally renowned sports business man is a major shareholder in Fort Lauderdale Strikers in the NASL, the second tier of American soccer. Ronaldo was part of a rebranding campaign for the club and has been actively involved in management of the club. The Brazilian has now decided to lace up his boots and take to the field for the strikers. Ronaldo, who struggled with his weight in recent years has begun a rigorous training campaign to get himself in shape. “It’s going to happen,” Ronaldo told Lance! “I have already said so. But it’s going to be a bit later, in the playoffs.” “For now, we are organizing it all, but I am going to have a [weight] goal,” he added.
While it would be nice to see the 38 year old on the pitch again, one is forced to wonder how much impact the legendary Brazilian would have on the pitch especially after being away from the game for four years.
