Ne-Yo got his start in the music business as a member of the Las Vegas-based quartet Envy. When that group broke up he started working as a songwriter (penning Mario’s hit “Let Me Love You”), and eventually breaking through as a singer with the single “So Sick,” which topped the pop charts in 2006. Ne-Yo is now a multiplatinum artist with four albums under his belt. He’s also an accomplished producer, and has appeared in films like Stomp The Yard and Red Tails about the elite Tuskegee Airmen. The gentleman has worked with the best in the business (including Beyoncé, Rihanna and Mary J. Blige), but his brand of R&B (with just a touch of Michael Jackson inspiration) is truly all his own. In 2012, Ne-Yo will release his fifth studio recording, The R.E.D. album.
